In January 2024, six couples in their 20s approached us with a desire to grow deeper in their faith. They were struggling to find a church where they truly felt at home and asked if they could bring their families on Sunday nights to be taught and led by Joe.
We began meeting weekly, walking through the book of John together and sharing a meal afterward. As the weeks went by, a strong sense of community formed.
Six months later, as our barn was completed, we moved the gathering there, opened the doors to a few more friends, and continued our tradition of sharing dinner as one big family.
Today, The Barn has become a place where God continues to bring people each Sunday for a simple, authentic expression of church—modeled after the early church in the book of Acts. We keep it simple: we study the Bible verse by verse, we grow together in genuine community, and we enjoy dinner together weekly.
Joe Kingry pastors Barn Church and leads the connected non-profit, Faith In The Wild. He has a BA in Biblical Studies from Colorado Christian University and a Masters of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary.
Joe lives in Windsor Colorado, with his wife, Amanda, and their three daughters.
